All Student Leaders of Chiromo Campus Converge to Discuss Ways of Publicizing Student Events

Student leaders in Chiromo Campus engage in discussion on how to best publicize their events

Chiromo Campus has student organization with diverse membership of students drawn from different departments and Schools within the campus. Additionally, each organization has a structured team in office, complete with Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Organizing Secretary, Secretary-General, Head of Publicity, Student representatives among other officials.

The students engage with stakeholders from different industries and student members in organizing various activities, with leadership of Assistant Dean of Students, Ms. Lucy Jiomba.

However, many of the students events, get little publicity or minimum representation from all schools in the College of Biological and Physical Sciences when they organize the activities.

Therefore, the College Communication Officer together with Assistant Dean of Students organized to meet representatives of three officials in all the student organizations/clubs in Chiromo.

The aim of the meeting was to brief the student leaders on the new revamped University of Nairobi websites which have a modern look, easy access of information and up-to-date information relevant to Colleges, Schools, Departments and Service offices in the University.

Additionally, through the meeting, the student leaders were taken through various platforms that they can use to publicize their events: among them, twitter and facebook.

Also, the student leaders were taken through how to write articles for the events they organize where they need to include the purpose or objective of the event, lessons learnt from a participant, partners and organizations the students engage with, invited speakers and diversity of participants.
