Environmental Conservation Activities

At the Department of Geology our Corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities aim to involve the students in contributing to the societal goals of a philanthropic, activist, or charitable nature or by engaging in or supporting volunteering or ethically-oriented practices that are geared towards improving the lives of the neighbourhood.

These activities shall be listed here as they happen.

1. Tree Planting at CBPS, Chiromo Campus, May 2021

The University of Nairobi in partnership with the Equity Group Foundation and the Kenya Forest Service facilitated a community tree planting exercise at the University of Nairobi’s Upper Kabete Campus on Tuesday May 18th, 2021.

2. Tree Planting:- HIGH ACHIEVERS ACADEMY SCHOOL, KIBWEZI AREA, EASTERN KENYA

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT


The tree planting activity was carried out by students at High Achivers Academy that is located in Kibwezi Constituency, Eastern Kenya. This activity was in support of maintaining a good environmental sustainability and to mitigate against adverse climate change. The activity was supervised by the Peer mentors student group from University of Nairobi. The project activity was sponsored by IRFF Germany in partnership with IRFF Urafiki Kenya NGO Chapter

3. Tree Planting:- MUATINI PRIMARY SCHOOL, KIBWEZI AREA, EASTERN KENYA

The tree planting activity was carried out by students at Muatini Primary School that is located in
Kibwezi Constituency, Eastern Kenya. This activity was in support of maintaining a good environmental
sustainability and to mitigate against adverse climate change. The activity was supervised by the Peer
mentors student group from University of Nairobi. The project activity was sponsored by IRFF Germany
in partnership with IRFF Urafiki Kenya NGO Chapter
