Meteorology Students Engage in Globe Cinema Clean-Up

Globe Cinema, Nairobi county was the focus for University of Nairobi Meteorological students who engaged in a cleaning activity November 30, 2019.

With key stakeholder from Kenya Meteorological Society (KMS) and County Government of Nairobi, the students received donations of t-shirts, a banner as well as wheelbarrows and spades used for the clean-up activity.

During the clean-up, the public was engaged in assessing their views on climate change through questionnaires. The public were mainly asked their view on how they can help to reduce the amount of pollutants being released in our immediate environment.

The clean-up activity will be done on the third month of every quarter.

According to the Secretary-General Nairobi University Meteorological Association (NUMA), Mr. Duncan Kazungu, a fourth year Bachelor of Science in Meteorology student, calls upon the University of Nairobi to support this once per semester clean-up activity.

Additionally, Mr. Kazungu, is passionate about seeing a better environment for all. His environment mantra is: “Our mission is one, to protect and hand over a safe planet to the next generation”. There is no planet B, he affirms.
