Economic Minerals, Energy & Water Resources

It introduces students to all aspects that relate to the occurrence, distribution and sustainable utilization of minerals, water resources and various sources of energy. Economic mineral resource can be defined as a concentration or occurrence of material of intrinsic economic interest in or on the earth's crust in such form, quality and quantity that there are reasonable prospects for eventual economic extraction. Under energy, the students are taken through all issues related to sources fossil and non-fossil energy, including coal, petroleum, uranium and geothermal resources. Water resource is crucial for all activities and students study a component of hydrological cycle related to groundwater. This include how to explore, develop and sustainably use water resources
