GROUNDWATER UTILIZATION AND AQUIFER POTENTIAL WITHIN LOWER KABETE AREA
Printer-friendly version

ABSTRACT

Groundwater has increasingly become the main and most reliable source of water within Nairobi and its suburbs e.g. lower Kabete area in the northern outskirts. This has resulted in overstretched demands of this vital resource in many areas lower Kabete included Changing population patterns has resulted in people moving away from the “noisy” CBD and its immediate environs into “quieter” areas like lower Kabete. This shift has resulted in slow but steady pressure on available resources, water included. This study was necessitated by the desire to look at groundwater uses in the area and impact if any on the aquifer serving the region.
