The Royal Society’s prestigious Newton International Fellows recently opened for applications (CLOSING DATE 9TH MARCH, 2016). This scheme is for non-UK early career scientists and it offers them an opportunity to spend two years conducting research in the UK.
Newton International Fellowships provide an opportunity for the best early-stage postdoctoral researchers worldwide to work at a UK institution for two years. The scheme is run as a partnership between the Royal Society and the British Academy and awards can be made to researchers in the physical sciences, natural sciences, social sciences and the humanities.
Newton International Fellows receive £24,000 per annum subsistence funding, up to £8,000 per annum research costs and up to £2,000 relocation expenses. Additional funding is also available to alumni to continue collaborations with the UK.
Applications open on a yearly basis, with around 40 Fellowships awarded each year.
Applicants must be in contact with their proposed host at a UK institution prior to applying.
